Calvert took an interest in the British colonisation of the Americas, at first for commercial reasons and later to create a refuge for persecuted English Catholics. Calvert died five weeks before the new Charter was sealed, leaving the settlement of the Maryland colony to his son Cecil.

Cecil Calvert, 2nd Lord of Baltimore, founded Maryland in 1632. Cecil's father, George Calvert, had received a royal charter for the land from King Charles I. The new colony was named after Henrietta Maria, the wife of the king.

Hope this helps!!

Question
According to freud, regression to a prior stage of development may be related to _____. a. overconfidence b. a fulfillment of needs at that stage c. pleasure d. an overgratification of needs at that stage
Solution 1

The correct answer is D. An over gratification of needs at that stage

Explanation:

Regression, as proposed by the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, occurs as one individual goes back to a previous stage instead of coping with a current stage. For example, one of the stages proposed is the oral stage (birth to 18 months old) this stage involves the individual obtaining pleasure through the mouth by sucking, eating, biting, etc. and can lead to individuals eating excessively or smoking in later stages due to regression. Additionally, according to Freud regression occurs due to inhibition, stress or over gratification or indulgence which means there was an excess of stimuli in the stage. Thus, regression may be related to "an over gratification of needs at that stage".

Solution 2
I believe the answer is D. an over gratification of needs at that stage.

"homer has a boring job with no chance for advancement or personal growth. he mastered his job years ago and doesn't feel he is accomplishing much. the money is fine and homer has a great boss. homer can't really complain about the benefits or working conditions either. according to herzberg, what does homer feel?"
Solution 1
The correct answer is no dissatisfaction and no satisfaction.

First, it is evident that Homer is not dissatisfied with his job because he believes that the money he is paid is fine and he is also content with the benefits and working conditions of his job. However, he is not satisfied with his job either as he thinks it is boring, and that he has no chance for advancement or personal growth because he has mastered his job years ago and does not feel he is accomplishing anything new.
