Bloat is a condition that not only happens in dogs but also many other animals such as horses. When an animal like dogs have bloat, it is claimed that nearly 25% to 40% of them will die even in an emergency treatment. This is because air and food fills up the stomach, leading to an expansion which decreases the breathing of the dog. When a dog is out of breathe, he or she may not make it to the hospital in time and additionally lower the blood supply to other organs of the body. Shock is also a big reason most of them instantly die. Some common symptoms of bloat include hard breathing, vomit, drooling, pale mouth and nose, etc.

A species of finch has been studied on one of the geographically isolated Galapagos Islands for many years. Since the island is small, the lineage of every bird for several generations is known. This allows a family tree of each bird to be developed. Some family groups have survived and others have died out. The groups that survive probably have: A) Interbred with other species B) Inherited some advantageous variations C) Found new places on the island to live D) Been attacked by more predators
Solution 1
B) Inherited some advantageous variations
Question
Which of the following is not an organic cause of mechanical weathering ?
Solution 1

Hello. This question is incomplete. The complete question is:

"Which of the following is not an organic cause of mechanical weathering? A. lichens B. plant roots C. prairie dogs D. burrowing snakes "

Answer:

Lichens

Explanation:

Weathering or weathering is a set of processes of a physical, chemical and biological nature that contributes to the formation of relief and climate in the world, since it interferes with the transformations of rocks and contributes to the formation of soil.

Mechanical weathering occurs through physical processes, with the fragmentation of rocks thus forming various types of sediment (eg sand). It is mainly influenced by temperature and pressure variation. Thus, the process of rock dilation favors its fragmentation. Despite being caused by physical processes, mechanical weathering has organic influences such as plant roots, prairie dogs, burrowing snakes.

Solution 2
Frost wedging is not the cause of mechanical weathering
Question
Discuss the importance of oxygen to all living organisms, and describe how three different organisms—human, flatworm, and fern—obtain the oxygen they need.
Solution 1
Importance:
Oxygen is the third most abundant element and constitute about 21% of the gases in earth's atmosphere. It is a key for generating energy in cellular respiration. In aerobic respiration, electron release in electron transport chain is culminated by oxygen, result into the production of chemical energy.
Oxygen obtained by human:
Human obtain oxygen through respiratory system by applying partial law of diffusion. The partial pressure of oxygen in atmosphere is higher than inside lungs, so oxygen move into lungs in exchange for carbon dioxide.
Oxygen obtained by flatworms:

Oxygen obtained by ferns:

Question
What is structural adaptation
Solution 1
Structural adaptations are physical features of an organism like the bill on a bird or the fur on a bear. Other adaptations are behavioral. Behavioraladaptations are the things organisms do to survive. For example, bird calls and migration are behavioraladaptations.
Solution 2

Answer:

physical changes in an organism in order to survive in a given environment

Question
ecomposers such as bacteria feed on dead plants and animals. In which cycle does this decomposition play a role in forming the fossil fuels that people use for energy?
Solution 1
The carbon cycle

The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is controlled by the carbon cycle.

Processes that remove carbon dioxide from the air:

photosynthesis by plantsdissolving in the oceans.

Processes that return carbon dioxide from the air:

respiration by plants, animals and microbescombustion ie burning wood and fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gasthermal decomposition of limestone, for example, in the manufacture of iron, steel and cement.Cellulose

All cells contain carbon, because they all contain proteins, fats and carbohydrates. For example, plant cell walls are made of cellulose, a carbohydrate.

Decomposers

Decomposers, such as microbes and fungi, play an important role in the carbon cycle. They break down the remains of dead plants and animals and, in doing so, release carbon dioxide through respiration.

For thousands of years, the processes in the carbon cycle were constant, so the percentage of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere did not change. Over the past 200 years, the percentage of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased steadily because humans are:

burning more and more fossil fuels as energy sourcesburning large areas of forests to clear land, which means that there is less photosynthesis removing carbon dioxide from the air.
